Annoying Stuff and Funny Video
So, I missed my 501 class because of the trains today. I'm a freak about being on time for things, so this was enough to put me in a sour mood. That AND I got a call from my dad yesterday. A call from my dad never ends on an exciting note. It usually ends with me thinking "well... that happened." Oh, and did I mention that I'm back working at his office on Friday?
Anyway, Siskel and Ebert fucking hate each other. Enjoy!

IMAX
This may sound totally weird, but I have never seen a movie in IMAX before. In fact up until a few days ago, I didnt know what the difference between IMAX and a regular movie theater was. It's the truth. No explanation. Just how it is. Now everyone is racing to go see Dark Knight in IMAX and tickets are sold out all week. From what I've read (and I may be late in the game on this one, so stop if you already know this) this is the first major motion picture to use any IMAX cameras, so the movie was made to be enjoyed in IMAX. Seeing it in any other regular, plain Jane movie theater would be pointless. You'd be missing the most awesome parts of the film. If this is the case, then I guess I can wait another week to see what all the fuss is about.

Can't Sleep
Instead I am:
-Eating triscuits and applesauce
-Writing outlines for sketches
-Watching The Simpsons Movie
-Drinking orange juice
-Playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance
-Thinking about how great Wall-E was
-Organizing all my comics and CDs
-Making lists
-Watching reviews from Angry Video Game Nerd
-Wishing I had mutant powers
-Just trying to be a good person
-Wondering what I should have for breakfast lunch and dinner tomorrow (or rather today)

So last night...
I had this weird dream that I thought I might share.
I'm working on an assembly line with a bunch of other improvisers, and we're all sewing the american flag. Everyone is smoking a cigarette, but the ashes arent falling off, so we're just chewing on them and spitting them into a bucket. Someone says "But wait, there aren't any stars on them. Betsy's not gonna like that". Then Trevor Fitzroy (from the x-men comics) comes in and tries to drain everones lifeforce to fuel his mutant time traveling powers. At this point, my mom wakes me and asks if wanted eggs for breakfast.
I dont put much stock in the meanings of dreams, but if anyone has any interpretations, feel free to let me know.

I Yam What I Yam
The description of the Popeye movie on digital cable makes me laugh.
"PG (two and a half stars) '80. The sailor with big forearms rows to Sweethaven and steals skinny Olive Oyl from large Bluto."

A message from me
Dave, this is you from the future. I wrote this blog post and sent it back in time to give you some advice.
1. Stop hanging out at McManus until 4:00 AM. It isnt good for you. You need sleep.
2. Get an alarm clock that works, and not one that buzzes randomly and wakes you up on days you need more sleep.
3. Remember to bring your camera to Jill's barbeque. It's gonna be awesome. Trust me.
4. Have some fun. You take things way too seriously some times. Just relax.
Sincerely,
Dave B (aka The Time Bandit)

Public Access Penguins
Fat Penguin just performed on a public access show called "Who Wants To Be An Actor?". We did a ten minute set at the top of the show, and then they asked us questions about how and where we met, and what shows we've done. We didn't stay for the rest of the taping, but I guess the show itself is like American Idol. They have a bunch of actors come in and read monologues, and the panel of judges give them notes. I feel like I've seen that idea played out and parodied so many times, it was kind of hard for me to take it seriously. The episode airs in a few months, so I'll save my judgement until then.
